About Burning Sky

We were the first craft brewery in the UK to install oak foudres for ageing beers in. The beginning of 2017 saw us install a bespoke coolship in – a traditional vessel used for cooling hot wort, we use this to produce spontaneously fermented beers. Again this was a first for the UK craft beer scene. In 2019 the brewery underwent a small expansion that included additional fermentation capacity and refurbishing a seperate building specifically for barrel ageing, blending and packaging.

The first beer that we brewed was a mixed fermentation, foeder aged Saison, destined for champagne bottles - this would not see the light of day for many months. The next was a 3.5% cask pale ale, ready to drink in a couple of weeks, then a 7% IPA for keg.

Today we brew a wide range of beers from fresh pales to mixed fermentation barrel aged beers in the Belgian tradition. Whilst we have fun creating new beers, we continue to refine and pay particular attention to our core beers, learning from them and making sure that we (and you), have something refreshing to relax and dream with at the end of the day.

Over the years, the brewery has evolved and grown a bit but the ethos remains the same - to continue to be unphased by trends but driven by quality, flavour and brewing the beers we want to drink.
