Bini Brew Co was founded in Ilkley in 2020 by father and son Nick and James Rudge, and James’ best friend Richard Thackray, from a tiny outbuilding at Nick and James’ house. James was an avid home brewer, and Nick and Richard enjoyed joining him, learning all about the brewing process.

As the quality of the beer continued to improve after every brew, and with a strong passion for craft beer, we decided to turn a dream into reality. From the initial purchase of a 120 litre capacity brew kit and two small fermenters on eBay, by June 2021 we had moved into new premises, and upgraded to a 500 litre kit. The brewery now has fermenter capacity of over 3000 litres.

We believe that each and every beer should have a story and personality behind it. For example, the brewery itself is named after Nick and James’ family cat. As we were researching our recipes in the early days, Bini was always around, sitting on the nearby manhole cover, watching what we did, so it was natural to name the brewery after her, and our first beer after her favourite spot!

Our spent grain is supplied to a local farmer. All beers are unfiltered and unfined and only use natural, sustainable additives.
